RAW MATERIAL & PRODUCT TESTING SERVICES
- COMPLETE PRODUCT, RESIN, ADDITIVE ANALYSIS
- COMPETITIVE; NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT; I.P. MANAGEMENT
- FAILURE AND FORENSIC; EXPERT WITNESS
CE-Technologies and its affiliate XCaliber Associates, Inc, work in conjunction with Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Materials Analysis Center (MAC) to manage and execute a diverse array of plastics analysis programs for their clients, as well as for client organizations brought in by GA Tech. In turn, GA Tech’s MAC leverages its vast network of commercial chemical and physical testing facilities to bring to bear virtually any needed method to meet CE-Technologies’ client’s analysis needs.
These capabilities scan the gamut from resin characterization as to type and grade to a complete analysis of additives including AO and uv stabilizers, colorants, fillers, impact modifiers, ignition-resistant additives, and others. Resin types characterized range from commodity and engineering resins to thermoset and thermoplastic elastomers. In today’s price-sensitive raw materials markets, repro materials are frequent analysis targets.
Analysis activities include, among others, complete reverse engineering, competitive product, raw material and additive analysis, product performance analysis over expected life cycles, contaminant analysis, and forensic and failure analysis. In conjunction with the last, we also provide expert witness services.
The vast portfolio of analytical and testing capabilities offered through GA Tech’s MAC includes, to name a few, SEM/EDX microscopy and elemental analysis, optical microscopy, thermal property measurement (TGA/DSC, etc.), polymer molecular weight characterization by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and others, Soxhlet and other extraction analysis for organic additives, FTIR and uv analysis, LC-mass spec, GC-mass spec, NMR analysis, and a complete line of physical testing for tensile and flexural properties, impact resistance, creep, uv stability and other properties.
CE-Technologies and XCaliber Asociates will go on clients’ sites as needed to present client product/raw material/competitive analysis results directly to clients, their customers, agencies, etc. The GA Tech MAC also conducts independent research and development in partnership with industries that cannot afford to acquire costly instrumentation, as well with other industries and branches of the U.S. government.
